Lambert Sez: In Which Lambert Switches As with most things, this did not happen; strangely, she got up willingly, after realizing that there was no point sleeping past 10. She headed downstairs, stable-legged, for once. She found her sister already on the computer. Lambert didn't mind. She had things to look at, specifically her Disability papers. She found them with a note telling her to get the Assessor part dealt with. After a timely call from her OT, Lambert found out that these new papers could not be dealt with; she needed the old ones, the ones filled out by Doctor Y. She also found out that her mother could not Mickey Mouse the forms by mix-n-matching old and new: the forms had serial numbers on all of the pages, presumably to prevent this kind of tampering. This wasn't her mother's idea, either. This plot was hatched by a family friend, who at one time was a caseworker. Feeling justified, not just about that, but about another complication with the papers, she attempted to locate her bathing suit; she'd lost it sometime in the night. The other complication with the papers was that her mother wanted to write it as an "I ___" report. The problem being the content her mother had prepared.. well, that and her mother's handwriting looked nothing like her own. Something about "My friends and family don't believe me because I overly exaggerate my mental and physical problems," invoked Lambert's bitterest ire. She had no problem with her mother saying that herself.. but to allow the government to think that Lambert was that kind of bullshitting suckup.. ho-no. No, Lambert found this so offensive because she herself did not believe her descriptions of her ailments to be exactly how she experienced them. The bathing suit thing was a bit of an ordeal. She phoned the pool 3 times, never coming to a concrete conclusion whether or not the soggy article was still there. Another thing plaguing her mind was the issue of craving expensive items: sewing machine, paper cutter, camera, tablet, and so on. It's weird, she thought, "To be so broke and want so much. I imagine this is some sort of sin; not accepting the fact that you're broke as shit, and that's how it's supposed to be." Distracted by The Colbert Report, Lambert retired to the couch.
